Attendance: Morning: 755 onsite, 232 online | Afternoon: 421 onsite, 270 online
It was a cold Wednesday morning in Ilorin, Kwara State with the slow risers of the city coming into their elements and getting set for the business of the day but something disruptive was brewing in the center of the city. Creatives from far and near were gathering in their numbers to connect, network and discuss all matters concerning the growth of the Creative Industry in Nigeria.
Here was a gathering involving the undiscovered, the enthusiasts, the refined, and veterans of the creative industry. The theme for discussion was THE CONTENT THE LOCATION AND THE CREATIVE.
The conference was organized by CS Media and had two sessions- morning and afternoon. The morning session was set in motion by the keynote address speaker, the Creative Director at Takeout Media (Abuja) – Mr. Elijah Affi who spoke on “Filling the Vacuum” laying down practical and relatable examples that were understood by all, and shortly after followed the first Panel discussion where Jerome Enemona played moderator to Media Entrepreneur Pamilerin Adegoke (The Pamilerin) and renowned Entertainment Lawyer, Barr. Tope Salami Jatalah where they focused on The Creative and the Content.
The Creative Director of CS Media, Tosin Opaleke granted his first public exclusive interview to round off the morning session where he demystified many assumptions about himself, the agency and the purpose of the conference.
The Afternoon Session began with Dr. Abdulgaffar Arikewuyo setting the tone with a thought-provoking seminar presentation. This was followed by a mock panel- a comedy sketch with comedians Funny Urch, Iykomo, H Prince and Makinde David. The second panel featured Prophecee as moderator for Barr. Lekan Bamidele (King Pexxie) and Dr Kelechi Okoro (Healthertainer) dissected the topic The Creative and the Location.
Feedback and comments from Participants attest to the impact the conference will have on them as many questions were answered in the most practical ways and recommendations were made on the way forward for the Creative Industry.
The International Creatives Conference 2021 was a massive success and hopes are high that the next set of industry leaders have been birthed or inspired there.
The International Creatives Conference will happen again in 2022 in Ilorin on the 3rd of November.
